Aerobic Fitness

Aerobic exercise is any sustained activity that sends oxygen to your muscles via your heart and lungs. Aerobic exercise improves the fitness of your lungs and heart - your body's most important muscle. Aerobic fitness is promoted by any activity that uses your large muscles - legs, or buttocks for example. Your heart beats quickly and you breathe deeply. Aerobic fitness is best achieved by exercising at 75% to 90% of your theoretical maximum heart rate. Optimal training heart rate is hypothetical, based on an average person in the population.

The ideal formulae for improving your Aerobic Fitness is to exercise at a medium to high capacity for a period of 20 minutes, 3 to 4 times per week. ie. Cycling medium fast, jogging.
